A bit about Ben

I started my Celebrancy in 2020, just before Covid-19 hit, working with one couple to create their special celebration. Then Covid hit, and as a result I decided to wait to launch my website and business in 2023. I did, then due to personal reasons I had to stop for awhile and am now well, full of energy and ......, well, welcome.

I'm Ben Elmer-White, an Independent Celebrant and I started my professional life as an actor working in theatre, TV, Film and Radio (even appearing in a pop video!) I went on to lecture in theatre and drama, was a Theatre Arts Course Director and taught many young people who are now established actors.

By the age of 30 I decided I needed a 'proper' job and started work as a call centre agent and using my skills became Head of Skills Development and Training. I continued working in the field of training and development and across time have been People Development Director for the UK arm of a global company and Operations Director for a consulting firm.

I live in the centre of Glasgow, one of my top 3 cities in the world. I live with my partner and our 2 dogs. Being in the City we are lucky to have a large balcony which I have changed into a garden, with lots of climbers including Hops and Kiwi fruit. I love cooking, (and was a chef for a wee while down in London), and entertaining friends to try out new recipes. I write in my spare time and have a self-published, fantasy novel (part I) on Kindle.

With much of the work I do, I present to large and small groups on a regular basis and thoroughly enjoy engaging with people, motivating and inspiring them and seeing them succeed. With my coaching, I work on a 1-2-1 basis and guide and steer my clients towards solving their challenges. I am a Mentor as well and work with young, disenfranchised students to support their development.

In the short time I initiated my Celebrancy I was lucky to share in several weddings and to support funerals.
